Community Outreach

At Wesson and Mothershed Eye Center, we believe in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need. Outreach programs represent an opportunity display the high level of commitment our eye doctors have to their community. The staff also plays an important role in community outreach.

Our clinic has been an active sponsor of this event for many years, as breast cancer has impacted so many of our family and friends. Race for the Cure® proceeds go to support breast cancer and community education, as well as breast cancer screening and treatment in our community, as well as to help survivors in need.

Good Samaritan Clinic

The eye doctors of Wesson and Mothershed Eye Center have been volunteering their services to the Good Samaritan Clinic for the past 10 years. This is a non-profit organization that provides no cost medical and dental care to residents of Lee County that are eligible working uninsured or temporarily unemployed. Our optometrists and ophthalmologists provide emergency eye care, chronic eye disease treatment and comprehensive eye examinations to these citizens.

Junior Auxiliary

This is a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged children of Lee County. They provide services such as school supplies, clothing, emergency medical and dental care, eye examinations and glasses to many children throughout northeast Mississippi. We are proud to help by providing eye care to any child that is referred to us from Junior Auxiliary.

Eye Glasses Donations

Our practice has served as a connection point for anyone that wishes to donate glasses to those in need. Over the past 5 years, we have collected over a thousand pair of glasses for those in need. The glasses are cleaned and adjusted and then delivered to those in need through either medical mission trips through First United Methodist Church or locally through the Tree of Life Clinic in Tupelo for those who have no health insurance or access to medical care.

By standing behind Wesson and Mothershed Eye Center, you support your community.
