Wesson-Mothershed Eye Center’s Mission Statement & Goal

Doctor group photoWe envisioned our practice as a multi-discipline practice, a total eye care facility to address:

  • Primary eye care
  • Designer eyeglasses
  • Contact lenses
  • Ocular disease management & treatment
  • Even specialty procedures like cataract surgery and eyelid surgery are performed in-house for greater convenience.

Our comprehensive team of eye care professionals includes optometrists, ophthalmologists, and our nursing and technician staff.

Our main goal is to offer a very family oriented, friendly, and easy to talk to practice.

We hear from our patients that no matter who they see at our practice, our staff and team of doctors are very friendly — we’re always talking, and we have a lot of fun. Our practice shares a lot of things with our patients, and we post pictures of past education trips, where we took our staff to different kinds of venues with a variety of experiences.

Our friendly family approach with top-notch medical based eye care has made our practice the leading practice in northeast Mississippi.

Patients Trust Our Approach.

We often have patients come in for second opinions from other eye care professionals. Patients visit one of our eye doctors to receive exceptional eye care with cutting-edge technology. From our equipment to the comprehensive exams performed, and to our commitment to every patient, our practice continuously builds patient trust.

We Support Our Patients.

Our mission is that no matter which eye care professional a patient sees at our practice, we ensure that the patient receives the help and attention they need.

Our team of eye care professionals accepts a wide range of both medical & vision insurances. We make every effort to support our patients so that they continue a life of healthy vision.

We Care For Everyone!

Our practice has been involved in local committees, charities, and a local sponsor for events. We can’t list all of them, but we have recently participated in a fundraiser for Dancing Like the Stars in Tupelo, Mississippi.

We also participate in the Tree of Life Clinic, which is a free clinic that provides medical care to patients without insurance. Our practice collects pairs of eyeglasses in our optical department, and several times a year, we will send over several hundred pairs of glasses to this clinic. We’ve been the local hub to collect eyeglasses, where people come in and donate their used eyeglasses. We refurbish every pair and clean them, and then send them over to the clinic.

We also participate in the Junior Auxiliary of Tupelo, a local women’s organization. This organization benefits the children of Lee County. All of the funds that are raised throughout the year with Junior Auxiliary will help provide more services to help children. Our practice specifically offers reduced cost eye exams and eyeglasses for them.

For many years, our practice participated in Breast Cancer Awareness with Susan G. Komen. 2017 in October was the first time that the foundation was not doing a run here in Tupelo. During that time, our practice donated a portion of our optical sales for the month of October to that organization.

We hope to see more patients visit our practice for all of their eye care needs, and continue to rely on our team of eye care professionals, our warm and friendly approach, and our expertise in all areas of eye health.
