About Wesson-Mothershed Eye Center

Over the years, we’ve treated patients of all ages and with various eye problems from simply an updated prescription on their eyeglasses to lowering the internal pressure of the eye for our glaucoma patients. Our success, in part, relies on utilizing modern eye health technology to detect signs and causes behind an eye problem. The TearLab, for example, analyzes the composition of your tears to identify the root of your dry eye symptoms. Dry eye patients travel from Fulton, MS to our eye care practice in Tupelo because of our dry eye solutions. We offer nearly any service necessary to get your eyesight back to seeing clearly.

We recommend patients who come to our office to plan ahead and ensure they set enough time to include possibilities for delays like traffic. Arriving 15 minutes early will ensure your visit at our practice remains timely, efficient, and enjoyable.

In case a patient arrives 15 minutes late or more, and time-permitting, we will try to work with that patient by squeezing them in between other exams. We may not always have the opportunity to see a late patient, and we may need to reschedule to another date/time.

If you’re unclear about your appointment time, our policies, or even your insurance, please call our office for further assistance.

What to Expect

A child patient will undergo a friendly, warm environment during their eye exam. If they need prescription glasses or contacts, they’ll be able to choose from our optical selection. We encourage children to also have retinal imaging done to start their eye health medical history records.

Adult patients undergo a more comprehensive eye exam, where not only do we check their ocular health, but we may discuss other conditions like dry eye disease, visual comfort levels for their work/office, and the prevention and management of eye disease.

Some patients are invited for an office call or medical visit regarding certain conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, droopy eyelids, or a diabetic eye exam.

If you’re exploring our optical for new eyewear, make sure to ask our opticians about blue light protection for digital device use and, if you’re presbyopic/farsighted, about our various options for progressive lenses, multifocal contact lenses, and premium options for cataract surgery.
